I guess I have always been an artist. I find beauty in everything, especially nature. When I combine nature and materials together I see a blend of connection, the web of life, a universal bonding. There is always a spiritual thread in my work, literally and energetically.
I started to knit when I was 7 and I am still knitting after 65 years. Interested in design, sculpture, and texture, I see architecture as the essence of creativity. In Italy, I had the privilege of attending numerous Pitti Immagine Filati shows in the city of Firenze and Filo Trade Fairs in the cities of Lake Como, Prato and Biella. There I discovered new ways of looking at yarn and fiber, the stunning display and presentation of the work, and how that complemented the lovely yarns. Those events were my “Yarn Art and Sculpture Museums”. This appreciation of Italian design is deeply reflected in my work.
I live in California but my heart is always in Italy.
